HOLLY MCCLAIN of Vero Beach Florida
Coach Holly McClain has been a swimmer her entire life and is originally from Oxford, Ohio. Holly competed at the University of Tampa and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with an English degree. will lead and direct the age group program
Coach McClain brings with her a strong swimming background having been a YMCA National champion and senior national qualifier.
Holly was the recipient of the ASCA age group coach of the year award for the Florida Gold Coast. Coach McClain has a passion for for coaching the youngest members of the team and enjoys seeing them improve to the point where they compete in meets and move on to competitive swimming then off to college.
Both coaches share a pension for helping others as being in the community for so long they are inspired to see more local talent develop as swimming is a year round opportunity in Florida.
“By registering the swimmers from the start with our Club Treasure Coast Swim Club and also registering them with USA Swimming all team members are part of not only a local swim club but the national organization for swimming. USA swimming is what they become a part of for all ages including high school, college swimming, and even up to the Olympics. Affording all our swimmers this opportunity it does not take too long for them to understand they are part of something bigger. My biggest delight is how strong and quickly our swimmers gain self confidence which is the most important the life skill kids receive being part of the TCSC swim team.””
Scott Barlow of Vero Beach Florida
Coach Barlow has experience coaching for more than 25 years. Originally from Cincinnati, he competed at Eastern Michigan University then graduated from Miami University of Ohio. Scott was recently was named Treasure Coast Scripps High School Coach of the year and awarded the Florida Gold Coast Senior Coach of the year.
Coach Barlow has produced 5 High School All Americans National level swimmers and a 2013 Florida High School 2 time State Champion. Under his direction, TCSC was awarded the USA Swimming Bronze level of excellence in 2010 Coach Barlow has had many Florida Age Group Champions and Top 10 Swimmers in the Florida Swimming LSC.
Scott Barlow’s commitment to excellence for the team and the swimmer as an individuals are what makes his swimmers and program successful. Like his wife Holly they share the enjoyment of seeing young swimmers grow into “young men and women we can be proud of.” The commitment, discipline and opportunity that swimming provides is like no other.
